Welcome to Fantasi Swedish Vallhunds!

Our goal is to breed quality pups with wonderful temperament, good health,breed type and working ability.  Our pups are raised in our home and well socialized with the real world.  Our dogs are part of our family and each one shares our home with us. WE DO NOT DOCK TAILS OR REMOVE DEW CLAWS ON OUR PUPS.

 They have eye exams by an AVCO eye specialist at 8 weeks, have their first shots, vet checked and microchipped.  All breeding pairs are health screened prior to being bred and eyes are done within 6 months of the mating. We have pups on occasion for pet, performance and show to qualified homes. Pet puppies will be on a spay/neuter contract and show/breeding on co own.   Please contact us for any further information on the breed or future planned litters.

ABOUT THE BREED

Swedish Vallhunds are an old breed dating back over 1000 years in Sweden.  They were valued farm dogs, herding cattle, hunting vermon, being companions and protecting the farm. Swedish Vallhunds came to the US in 1984, were recognized by the UKC (United Kennel Club) in 1996 and by the AKC in June of 2007. They are an extremely versatile breed and very wolf- like in behavior. They do love their people and enjoy the company of other animals.

They make wonderful companions, some have a sense of humor, they can do Rally, obedience, agility, herding, seach and rescue, tracking and almost anything they want to do.  They are a very smart breed and need to be trained in a positive manner as they do not do well with harshness. Just like any breed the Vallhunds are not for everyone.  Do your homework and study the breed to make sure that this is the breed for you.

Overall they are a healthy and long lived breed with few health issues.
